Job summary

WeLab in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Data & Analytics professional to drive data-driven decisions across product, risk, and marketing. You will translate complex data into actionable insights and influence stakeholders.

You will partner with cross-functional teams, develop customer segmentation, design KPIs, and lead experimentation to optimise growth and retention. Proficiency in SQL and BI tools is essential, with Python or R as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in data analytics within banking/fintech or financial services.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of banking products, customer journeys, and digital financial services.
• Proven ability to turn data into commercially actionable insights and recommendations.
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization/BI tools (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with Python or R for data analysis is an advantage.
• Experience in customer analytics, segmentation, campaign analytics, experimentation, or portfolio analytics valued.
• Curious, collaborative, and comfortable in fast-paced environment; take ownership and turn ideas into action.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product, Risk, Marketing and other business teams to understand customer needs and growth opportunities.
• Identify and prioritize high-impact, data-driven use cases across acquisition, conversion, product adoption, engagement, cross-selling and retention.
• Analyze customer behaviour, product holdings, portfolio performance and customer value; uncover actionable opportunities.
• Develop customer segmentation and insights to support more relevant customer propositions and journeys.
• Translate complex data and analyses into clear insights, recommendations and actions for stakeholders.
• Work with business and tech teams to embed analytics into customer journeys and decisions.
• Design measurement frameworks and KPIs to track performance and impact of initiatives.
• Support experimentation and performance optimization; identify opportunities, measure results and suggest next actions.
• Drive adoption of advanced analytics, AI and a data-driven mindset across the business.

• Work closely with business and technology teams to embed analytics into customer journeys and day-to-day decision-making.
• Design measurement frameworks and KPIs to track business performance and evaluate the impact of initiatives.
• Support experimentation and performance optimization, including identifying opportunities, measuring results and recommending next actions.
• Drive the adoption of advanced analytics, AI and a data-driven mindset across the business.

What is required and what we're looking for

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, customer analytics or a related role, preferably within banking, fintech or financial services.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of banking products, customer journeys and digital financial services.
• Proven ability to turn data intocommercially actionable insights and recommendations, rather than simply producing reports.
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex analyses and influence business stakeholders.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization / BI tools such as Qlik, Tableau or Power BI.
• Experience with Python or R for data analysis would be an advantage.
• Experience in customer analytics, segmentation, campaign analytics, experimentation or portfolio analytics would be highly valued.
• Curious, collaborative and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you can take ownership and turn ideas into action.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for Assistant Manager, Data & Analytics.
