Job summary

HSBC seeks a Wealth Planner to join Global Private Banking for the Greater China offshore markets. You will provide wealth structuring, cross-sell legacy capabilities, and drive revenue growth while upholding client-centric standards.

With 7–10 years of experience and a degree in law, accounting or finance (STEP/CPA preferred), you will train managers, travel as needed, and build strong relationships with high-net-worth clients in Chinese and English.

Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in financial institutions or wealth planning.
  • Degree holder in law, accounting or finance; STEP/CPA preferred.
  • Sound analytical mind and strong self-motivation.
  • Fluent in Chinese and English; Putonghua experience with clients.
  • Willingness to travel and maintain high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide wealth structuring and succession guidance for high and ultra-high net-worth clients.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Planning & Advisory teams and external providers to cross-sell HSBC capabilities.
  • Drive business strategy, revenue growth and client-centric excellence.
  • Train relationship managers and internal stakeholders on wealth planning matters.
  • Monitor industry trends and maintain relationships with intermediaries.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a

Wealth Planner.

  • Report into the Head of Wealth Planning for Greater China to provide comprehensive wealth structuring and wealth succession guidance and solutions for high and ultra-high net-worth clients for the offshore China and offshore Taiwan market of Global Private Banking.
  • Collaborate with the wider Wealth Planning & Advisory team and other specialists from both inhouse and external service providers to facilitate the cross-sell of HSBC’s overall legacy capabilities.
  • Exercise key business strategies and revenue growth, while maintaining HSBC's commitment to client centric excellence.
  • Provide training to relationship managers and other internal stakeholders, and work on other projects as assigned from time to time.
  • Monitor industry trends and maintain close relationships with intermediaries in the wealth planning industry.
In This Role You Will

To Be Successful You Will Need
  • At least 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial institutions, professional firms, or independent trust companies
  • Degree holder in law, accounting or finance, preferably with the STEP, CPA, law qualification
  • Sound analytical mind and strong self-motivator
  • Collaborative team player who can work closely with different business partners and stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to develop strong and productive relationships with high and ultra-high net-worth clients.
  • Willingness to travel for business
  • Highest levels of ethical standards and integrity
  • Must have Chinese and English language fluency and experience in advising clients on wealth planning matters in Putonghua
