Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking an experienced leader to architect and deliver mission-critical post-trade systems, spanning clearing, settlement and risk management. You will lead a team of developers and drive end-to-end delivery across the software lifecycle, ensuring secure, scalable solutions for Hong Kong’s capital markets.

The role requires strong Java expertise, microservices, and cloud-native patterns, with proven stakeholder management to align technology

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
10+ years hands-on experience in system design and development.
3+ years in management or technical leadership.
Experience delivering mission-critical systems in financial services.

Responsibilities

Lead solution architecture and end-to-end delivery for post-trade platforms (clearing, settlement, risk).
Own delivery across the SDLC; manage multiple stakeholder groups.
Drive parallel delivery across workstreams; coordinate internal teams and vendors.
Provide engineering leadership on modern backend practices (microservices, cloud).
Collaborate with technology and business teams to translate requirements into robust designs.
Oversee production support, incident management and continuous stability/performance improvements.
