Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is seeking a senior leader to drive strategic development in the Trading Department, supporting HKEX initiatives in securities, Stock Connect and derivatives markets.

You will lead market structure projects, engage diverse stakeholders, and oversee project planning, budgeting and people leadership to bolster liquidity and market integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Admin, Social Science, Journalism or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in capital markets with related background (finance, sales & trading, research, journalism good).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and logical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and spoken Chinese (Mandarin) and English.

Responsibilities

• Lead HKEX’s strategic initiatives in securities/derivatives and Stock Connect projects to bolster liquidity and market integrity.
• Assess the evolving global market landscape, anticipate regulatory shifts, and craft strategies for market participants.
• Engage with IT teams, Exchange Participants, regulators, mainland counterparts and industry bodies for collaboration.
• Drive project planning, budgeting and execution with accountability across divisions.
• Build, coach and develop a high-performing team with a culture of ownership and learning.
