Job summary

Gravitas Recruitment Group Hong Kong is seeking a Business Control Officer for Liquid Financing (VP) to partner with business leaders and strengthen risk and control environments across the platform. You will lead control assessments, support regulatory initiatives, and oversee key risk areas while advising senior stakeholders.

In this first line of defence role, you will coordinate audits, deliver management reporting, and promote adherence to internal frameworks.

Qualifications

• Solid experience within Equities, Financing, Prime Services, or Markets businesses from a banking/financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of electronic trading, algorithmic trading, DMA, and market access controls.
• Experience conducting risk reviews, control testing, governance activities, or operational risk assessments.
• Knowledge of APAC market structure, exchange rules, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to influence across functions and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess and enhance the effectiveness of business controls and risk management practices.
• Identify control gaps, emerging risks, and remediation opportunities.
• Partner with front office, operations, compliance, technology, and other stakeholders on control-related matters.
• Support regulatory change, governance initiatives, and audit engagements.
• Deliver management reporting and communicate key control issues to senior stakeholders.
• Promote adherence to internal control frameworks, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to regional control programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.
