Job summary

IT Channel (Asia) Limited, with its HQ in Hong Kong, seeks a Data Analytics Lead to engineer and deliver enterprise data platform capabilities. You will lead a data engineering team, collaborate with business stakeholders, and drive end-to-end data projects from inception to deployment.

The role requires a strong technical background in data engineering and cloud technologies, plus extensive experience in managing cross-functional teams and ensuring on-time, within-budget delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or related disciplines required.
• 10+ years in IT development and team management, preferably in large enterprises.
• Strong SDLC and Agile experience; lead cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on software development and data tech background.
• Solid enterprise data architecture understanding.
• Experience with JupyterHub or similar data science workbench.
• Familiar with cloud technologies (AWS EKS/EFS); Hauwei Cloud knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of data security, LDAP, OAuth, Open Metadata and related tools.
• Familiar with data governance and data quality standards; strong communication.
• PMP/PRINCE2/Agile certification is advantageous.

Job description

The Data Analytics Lead, Chief Data Office of the Information Technology Division, is an important and strategically aligned role for developing data analytics capabilities and solutions on our enterprise data platform.

Job Duties

The Data Analytics Lead will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects to incrementally build out our enterprise data platform. Key duties span across various technical and development management responsibilities in the data projects. The role leads and manages the data engineering function, building a strong data technology team to support execution of the data programme from a technical perspective. The role applies technology skills in enabling capabilities like data ingestion, data modelling, data governance, data visualization and analytics toolset. This role requires a strong technical background in data and cloud technologies as well as excellent development and team management experience to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, meeting high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a data development team and manage end-to-end responsibilities of data engineering projects, from inception to deployment

Collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver data platform capabilities, prioritising requirements basing on business benefits and protection against data risks

Manage data initiatives through effective deployment of engineering skills and resources, tracking progress and risks against scope, schedule and costs, in coordination with business and the data programme team

Promote compliant and quality reuse of data on enterprise platform, through incremental delivering functionalities in data lifecycle, including data access control, data lineage, data quality, data analytics etc.

Manage third party data products for deployment on the data platform

Implement cloud and open source capabilities to enable end-to-end data capabilities

Effectively use hybrid project management techniques, applying agile tools within SDLC phases

Manage data architects and engineers in efficient deployment of resources and technical skills in delivering high quality data solutions

Manage the efficient use of technical tools, internal resources and skills, optimising technical synergies and efficiency across initiatives

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or related disciplines

10 or more years of working experience in IT development process and team management, preferably having good track record in large enterprises, with strong technology and management experiences

Well versed with SDLC project disciplines, experience with Agile methodologies and leading cross-functional teams

Solid technical background with hands‑on experience in software development and data related technologies, such as multi‑tiered service‑oriented architecture, data modelling and data visualization

Good coverage and understanding of enterprise data architecture requirements and end to end technology stack

Experience in JupyterHub or equivalent data scientist workbench and deployment of multi‑tenant architecture

Familiar with native cloud technologies, e.g. AWS EKS, EFS. Preferably, with hands‑on experience on Hauwei Cloud technology stacks.

Experience in data security and data management tools, e.g. LDAP, OAuth, Keycloak, AWS Lake Formation, AWS Data Catalog, Open Metadata. Preferably, with hands‑on experience on Hauwei MRS and DataArts platform.

Familiarity with data management, data governance and data quality standards

Excellent communication and influencing skills

PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification is an advantage
