MUNG is a boutique law firm built as a tri-domestic federation across Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. We advise founders, entrepreneurs and fintechs on the matters that keep them up at night, and on the ideas that keep them up for better reasons.
On any given week, our team might be:
structuring a real-world-asset tokenisation for a piece of fine art;
chasing a frozen digital-asset custody account through the courts;
drafting the platform terms for an AI start-up that launches next Tuesday;
defending a company caught in a boardroom stand-off.
If you read that list and thought "I want to do all of those", keep reading.
You will not be photocopying in a basement. You will be:
On real matters from week one corporate, regulatory, fintech/Web3, AI governance, litigation, insolvency, family and probate.
Drafting work that goes to clients contracts, advice notes, court documents and bilingual deliverables, reviewed closely and returned with real feedback.
Thinking in structures turning messy facts into issue lists, process maps, transaction diagrams and decision trees.
Working across borders with colleagues and clients in Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan.
We take training seriously, so you do not have to guess.
Clarify, then execute. You will learn to pin down the purpose, audience, jurisdiction and deadline before you start and to ask the right questions early.
Review-ready from the first draft. Clear conclusions up front, clean headings, checked cross-references and defined terms that actually match.
No-surprises supervision. Daily self-review, weekly check-ins with your supervisor and a firm rule: bad news travels fast and nobody gets in trouble for raising it early.
Direct access to partners. In a boutique firm, the people who sign off your work are the people who sit next to you.
A stage, not just a desk. Opportunities to attend, help run our conferences, lectures and training sessions.
have completed, or will complete, the PCLL before the training contract begins;
write clean, precise English, and ideally Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) Japanese will be a lovely bonus;
spot the typo in a clause, the wrong wallet address in a schedule and the date that does not add up;
are curious about crypto, tokenisation, AI or fintech genuine interest matters more than expertise;
enjoy turning complexity into something a client can understand in two minutes; and
would rather build something new than follow a script written in 1987.
You do not need to be a blockchain expert, a coder or a polyglot. You do need to be sharp, reliable and hungry to learn.
A Hong Kong training contract with broad, practical exposure.
Competitive trainee salary depending on performance.
