Job summary

Societe Generale APAC seeks a Release Manager to govern the end-to-end release lifecycle for software applications supporting external market connectivity and internal initiatives. You will collaborate with Development, Operations, and Business teams to ensure releases are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in release processes, and a proactive mindset to drive improvements and innovations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks, Python scripting, and Unix/Linux environments is required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to collaborate and influence stakeholders across levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with ownership and accountability.
  • Knowledge of software development, automation frameworks, DevOps practices, AI, and emerging technologies is a strong asset.
  • Prior experience supporting electronic trading platforms, exchange connectivity, or mission-critical financial applications is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Release Planning & Governance: Develop, maintain, and oversee the release roadmap and schedule, ensuring alignment with project timelines and delivery commitments.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination across Business Analysis, Development, Operations, and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless release execution.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Produce release-related documentation including specifications, diagrams, deployment plans, release notes, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and manage risks and issues with mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Quality & Compliance Assurance: Ensure releases meet quality standards, testing requirements, and regulatory obligations prior to deployment.
  • Process Improvement & Automation: Review and optimize release management processes and tooling for efficiency and reliability.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary contact for release communications with timely updates on status, risks, and milestones.
  • Change & Release Management: Gatekeeper for production releases ensuring controlled deployments.
  • Market Communications Management: Coordinate exchange and market communications, maintain contact lists, and promote transparency.
  • Infrastructure Partnership & Technical Oversight: Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to understand data center architecture and market connectivity solutions.
  • Leadership & Autonomy: Operate with autonomy and take ownership of initiatives.
  • Innovation & Technology Research: Explore emerging technologies and promote adoption of innovative solutions.

  • Market Communications Management: Act as the central point of coordination for exchange and market communications. Ensure market notifications are received, tracked, and distributed through a centralized process, maintain and harmonize exchange contact lists, assign follow-up actions to relevant team members, and promote transparency regarding market changes and initiatives across stakeholders.
  • Infrastructure Partnership & Technical Oversight: Collaborate closely with Infrastructure teams to gain market-related technical intelligence and develop a strong understanding of data center architecture, networking, and server platforms supporting market connectivity solutions.
