Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a motivated engineer to support the installation, deployment, testing and commissioning of railway signalling systems onsite. You will work with senior engineers, report issues, and contribute to test documentation and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering or related fields, a passion for railway automation, and strong Cantonese/English communication. Night shifts and onsite work are required.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Support site installation, deployment, testing, and commissioning of railway signalling systems, including basic inspections and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Help identify and report issues found during testing, providing first‑level analysis to support the software and engineering teams
• Prepare and maintain test reports and project documentation with guidance from the team
• Support quality assurance, safety, and compliance activities in line with project and regulatory requirements
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams and learn to apply industry standards such as CENELEC and IRSE practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or greater) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines
• Strong academic background with a passion for railway systems and automation
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Adaptability to fast-paced environments and project demands
• Prior internship or project experience in railway, signalling, or transportation systems is an advantage
• Excellent command of Cantonese and English
• Willingness to work night shifts and onsite as these will be required
