Job summary

CMA Testing & Certification Laboratories Limited is seeking a Technical Officer / Assistant Officer / Lab Technician in Hong Kong. The role involves sample prep, instrument operation and data processing for organic testing under SOPs, with emphasis on accuracy, safety and compliance.

Requires a degree in science (analytical chemistry preferred), ISO 17025 familiarity, 1–3 years’ lab experience, and proficiency in English and Chinese.

Qualifications

• Degree or above in a Science discipline, preferably Analytical Chemistry.
• Practical knowledge of the ISO 17025 quality system.
• Familiarity with regional and international regulatory frameworks (HOKLAS, REACH).
• 1–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience with analytical instruments such as GC-MS/MS, LC-DAD/MS/MS, UV-Vis.
• Strong command of English and Chinese (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Perform sample preparation, instrumentation, and data processing for Organic testing per SOPs.
• Monitor instrument performance and manage workflows to meet turnaround times.
• Maintain documentation systems compliant with ISO 17025.
• Support routine and ad-hoc R&D projects.
• Uphold chemical safety, waste disposal, and lab housekeeping.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Responsibilities:

• Perform sample preparation, instrumentation, and data processing for Organic testing in accordance with international standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Monitor analytical instrument performance and manage daily operational workflows to achieve testing turn-around times
• Maintain documentation systems in compliance with ISO 17025 standards
• Support routine and ad-hoc research and development (R&D) projects
• Uphold chemical safety protocols, waste disposal regulations, and general laboratory house-keeping
• Execute other laboratory tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

• Degree or above in a Science discipline, preferably in Analytical Chemistry
• Practical knowledge of the ISO 17025 quality system
• Familiarity with regional and international regulatory frameworks (e.g., HOKLAS, REACH)
• Minimum 1-3 years of hands‑on experience in laboratory operations or laboratory management, with practical experience in the operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of analytical instruments, including GC-MS/MS, LC-DAD/MS/MS, and UV-Vis systems.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese
• Proficient in Chromatography Data Systems and Microsoft Office applications
