What You’ll Do
  • Lead the research, analysis, and documentation of complex technical accounting matters under IFRS, US GAAP, and other applicable local GAAP frameworks.
  • Prepare high-quality technical accounting memos, position papers, and accounting analyses on complex topics, including revenue recognition, financial instruments, consolidation, share-based compensation, business combinations, fair value measurement, impairment, digital assets, and other judgmental accounting areas.
  • Develop well-supported accounting recommendations for review by senior Finance leadership, ensuring conclusions are technically robust, clearly documented, and commercially practical.
  • Support the assessment of digital asset and Web3-related transactions, including crypto asset holdings, token issuances, token-based incentives, staking rewards, validator or node operations, custody and safeguarding arrangements, stablecoin-related activity, and other blockchain-based products or services.
  • Partner with product, legal, compliance, treasury, tax, operations, and engineering teams to understand new business initiatives and assess related accounting implications.
  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures across multiple reporting frameworks and jurisdictions.
  • Monitor new accounting standards, interpretations, industry practices, and regulatory developments relevant to digital assets, Web3, FinTech, and financial services; summarize potential impacts and support implementation efforts as needed.
  • Provide technical accounting support for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, particularly for areas involving significant judgment, estimates, fair value considerations, impairment analysis, and complex accounting conclusions.
  • Work with external auditors and advisors on technical accounting matters, including audit requests, accounting memos, management’s accounting positions, and resolution of audit comments.
  • Partner with financial reporting teams to support financial statement preparation, disclosure analysis, audit deliverables, reporting packages, and other periodic reporting activities.
  • Lead technical accounting workstreams for ad hoc projects, including market expansion, new entity setup, M&A activity, restructuring, new product launches, token-related transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting documentation, processes, internal controls, and cross-functional workflows, particularly in areas involving digital asset activity and complex transactions.
  • Support the preparation of materials for senior Finance leadership, including summaries of key accounting judgments, technical conclusions, implementation considerations, and auditor feedback.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to junior team members and broader finance stakeholders, helping to build technical accounting capability across the organization.
  • Escalate significant accounting matters, judgmental issues, and potential policy implications to senior Finance leadership in a timely and structured manner.
What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA, HKICPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, technical accounting advisory, financial reporting, controllership, or industry finance roles.
  • Big 4 audit or technical accounting advisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands‑on experience in IFRS and/or US GAAP; experience with multiple reporting frameworks is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience researching complex accounting issues, preparing technical accounting memos, and developing well-supported accounting recommendations.
  • Experience with complex accounting areas such as revenue recognition, financial instruments, consolidation, share-based compensation, business combinations, fair value measurement, impairment, and digital assets is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in Web3, digital assets, FinTech, financial services, technology, or high-growth companies is preferred; strong technical accounting candidates with demonstrated curiosity in digital assets will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with digital asset topics such as token classification, crypto asset holdings, staking, custody arrangements, stablecoins, wallet infrastructure, exchange activity, DeFi, or blockchain-based revenue models is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret accounting standards and apply them to complex or evolving business models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner effectively across functions, seniority levels, and geographic locations.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with ambiguity, changing priorities, and limited precedent.
  • Strong ownership mindset, intellectual curiosity, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
