Job summary

Gfi World in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced IT professional to support the IT Manager in project operations and coordinate development efforts across internal teams and vendors.

The role requires strong software design and development skills, hands-on experience with .Net, SQL, Python, and web/api development, and the ability to test and document system deployments. You will contribute to cloud setups and BI/data analytics initiatives while maintaining English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 5 years IT experience, 3 in similar post.
• Solid software design and development experience.
• Hands-on web development on Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Assist IT Manager in overall project operations and coordination.
• Supervise internal development team, subcontractors and vendors.
• Develop high quality programming and provide technical advice.
• Problem-solve and perform robust testing during deployments.
• Prepare system documentation and design documents (specs, DB design, manuals).

Job description

• To assist IT Manager in overall project operations and co-ordination
• To supervise internal development team / subcontractors / vendors to ensure the smooth running of the project
• Develop high quality program coding and give technical advices
• Ability to problem-solve and conduct robust testing throughout system deployment
• Prepare documentations including system requirement and design documents, such as system documentation, technical specifications, database design specifications and system manuals, etc.
• Comply with IT security policy and audit requirement in system developments and operations
• Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisors

Job Requirements:

• Degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least 5 years in post-qualification IT experience of which 3 year must be in similar post and in comparable capacity
• Solid experience with software design, and application development
• Self-motivated with proven rapid learning capabilities
• At least 3 years hands-on experience in web development under Windows & Linux platform
• Practical experience in T-SQL and PL/SQL skills
• Solid experience in application development or support in .Net, Entity framework, LINQ and MVC model, Python
• Experience in Web / Mobile & API development, BI / Data analytics as well as Cloud environment setup.
• Familiar with agile methodology and related tools
