Job summary

Carmel School is seeking a Supply Physical Education Teacher to provide on-call substitute coverage for our IB high school PE program. You will deliver IB-aligned PE lessons, implement age-appropriate plans, and ensure safe instruction with safeguarding protocols.

The role requires a teaching credential (Bachelor’s in Education or PGDE) and preferred prior high school PE experience. Familiarity with IB principles is strongly preferred, with a focus on safety and student development.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and a recognized teacher certification (Bachelor’s degree in Education or PGDE or equivalent).
• Experience teaching PE at high school is preferred.
• Familiarity with IB principles (inquiry, skill development) is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sports pedagogy, fitness training basics, and safe practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver IB-aligned PE lessons for high school students during substitute assignments.
