Job summary

Pathos Consultancy Limited in Hong Kong seeks a mid-level Java developer skilled in Spring Boot to translate business requirements into robust software solutions and to drive end-to-end delivery across the full development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with business users, PMs, developers, and ops, perform production support, contribute to design and documentation, and help uphold security, quality, and regulatory standards in a fast-paced financial-services environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of end-to-end development experience in Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience in system analysis, application development, and production support.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, agile delivery, and object-oriented programming.
• Experience with SQL, relational databases, and API/integration development.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in banking, payment, clearing, or financial services environments is an advantage.
• Experience with microservices, RESTful APIs, and enterprise application architecture.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems.
• Knowledge of Linux, middleware, or message queue technologies.
• Exposure to high-availability, mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and implement system solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
• Work closely with business users, project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure successful delivery.
• Perform application support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production incident resolution.
• Prepare technical documentation, including system design, workflow diagrams, test plans, and user guides.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Support system enhancements, integration, and production deployment activities.
• Participate in code reviews, system testing, UAT support, and post-implementation review.
