Job summary

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) invites applications for a Teaching Associate in the Design and Information Technology Section. The role focuses on Light Specialist for Stage/Entertainment, including teaching duties, student assessment, and maintaining training facilities and equipment.

Ideal candidates will have a recognised degree in Theatre and Entertainment Arts, strong English and Chinese communication skills, and relevant live-events experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Theatre and Entertainment Arts or equivalent, ideally with postgraduate qualifications.
• Strong English and Chinese communication and presentation skills.
• Linked with industry or professional bodies is an advantage.
• Experience in setting up and operating lighting equipment with safety protocols.
• Experience in theatre, live events or concerts is advantageous.
• Event management experience is preferable.
• A good team player who can work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Teach duties including student assessment, operating and maintaining training facilities and equipment.
• Assist in programme development and provide learning support to student projects.
• Help develop curriculum and teaching/learning packages.
• Engage in student/academic administration and counselling duties.
• Support in programme validation and accreditation processes.
• Participate in industry networking, industrial attachments and events as needed.
