Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology Management, Digital Transformation, or MBA preferred.
  • Cloud, DevOps, Agile, Engineering Management, or Architecture-related certifications preferred, such as AWS/Azure certifications, PMP/ACP/Scrum, TOGAF, or equivalent.
  • Data, AI, security, or integration-related certifications are a plus, but not mandatory.
  • 10-12+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, enterprise systems, engineering delivery, solution delivery, platform engineering, data/analytics engineering, or digital transformation.
  • 8+ years of people leadership or technical team leadership experience, including coaching, performance feedback, team capability development, workload planning, and hiring support.
  • Experience delivering enterprise technology initiatives in sourcing, production operations, quality, supply chain, product development, manufacturing, PLM, ERP, integration, data platforms, or related operational domains.
  • Experience managing engineering delivery across multiple initiatives, including scope, timeline, quality, risk, dependency, release readiness, and post-go-live support.
  • Experience working with global or cross-regional technology teams, balancing local/regional business needs with enterprise architecture, security, data, and platform standards.
  • Experience partnering with architects, engineering leads, PM/BA/QA teams, data teams, security teams, infrastructure teams, product owners, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with modern engineering practices such as Agile/SDLC, CI/CD, DevSecOps, API/integration patterns, observability, automated testing, cloud-enabled platforms, and engineering documentation.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, AI-enabled engineering/productivity, analytics, or data-driven process improvement initiatives is preferred.

Job Summary: The Sr. Manager, Engineering & Digital Transformation (Non-sales & marketing) leads the engineering delivery team supporting Deckers' global sourcing, production operations, quality, ESC, RS, and Product Innovation & Development business capabilities. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, this role translates approved technology priorities into executable engineering plans, delivery governance, solution alignment, and measurable digital transformation outcomes.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Engineering Team Leadership & Talent Development (20%):

Set performance expectations, manage capacity, support hiring/onboarding, and build a high-performing team culture.

Develop team capabilities in engineering practices, business understanding, technical problem solving, and cross-regional collaboration.

Manage delivery of assigned engineering initiatives aligned with approved business and technology priorities.

Oversee delivery planning, dependencies, risks, quality, release readiness, and operational stability.

Ensure solutions are delivered on time, with appropriate quality, security, scalability, and supportability.

Architecture Alignment & Engineering Standards (20%)

Partner with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Security, Data, and Infrastructure teams to ensure solution designs align with Deckers standards.

Facilitate technical design reviews for assigned initiatives and elevate exceptions or major trade-offs to the Director and relevant governance forums.

Drive consistent engineering standards, SDLC practices, DevSecOps adoption, documentation, observability, and reusable patterns.

Identify practical digital, automation, AI/ML, analytics, and process improvement opportunities within assigned business domains.

Lead execution of approved transformation initiatives that improve operational efficiency, data quality, user experience, and business decision-making.

Promote responsible adoption of modern engineering tools and AI-assisted ways of working while maintaining security, compliance, and quality expectations.

Coordinate assigned roadmap items with business stakeholders, product owners, PM/BA/QA teams, global/APAC partners, and external vendors.

Provide delivery status, risk, dependency, and recommendation inputs for steering committee or leadership reviews.

Manage vendor delivery performance for assigned initiatives and ensure knowledge transfer, documentation, compliance, and support readiness.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field required.

  • Good understanding of sourcing, production operations, quality, supply chain, product development, or manufacturing processes is strongly preferred.
  • Fluent Mandarin Chinese and professional English communication skills required.
