Primech Hong Kong Limited invites applications for a Senior Software Engineer in Robotics. You will develop and maintain ROS-based software on NVIDIA Jetson platforms, focusing on autonomous robot functions and real-time performance.

You will work closely with the system architecture team to ship production-grade robotics software globally. The role requires 3–6 years in software engineering with robotics/embedded experience, strong C++/Python on Linux, and Cantonese/English fluency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in CS, Robotics, EE, or related field.
• 3–6 years of professional software engineering, with at least 2 years in robotics or embedded systems.
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2 in production or near-production environment.
• Strong C++ and Python skills on Linux.
• Experience deploying software on NVIDIA Jetson or similar embedded platforms.
• Knowledge of SLAM, navigation, TF frames, and sensor fusion.
• Fluent in Cantonese and English; Mandarin a plus.

Job description

Senior Software Engineer (Robotics — NVIDIA Jetson / ROS)

You will join our Hong Kong R&D team as a mid-level Software Engineer focused on the HYTRON autonomous robot platform, working on the NVIDIA Jetson compute stack and ROS-based robotics software. You will report to the Lead Software Engineer and work closely with our Head of System Architecture on production-grade robotics systems shipping to commercial customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain robotics software on the NVIDIA Jetson platform (Orin family) using ROS/ROS2
• Implement and optimise navigation, localisation (SLAM), and path-planning modules for autonomous indoor operation
• Integrate and calibrate sensors including LiDAR, depth cameras, IMU, and ultrasonic sensors
• Optimise perception and compute pipelines for real-time performance on embedded GPU hardware (CUDA, TensorRT a plus)
• Contribute to system reliability: logging, diagnostics, OTA updates, and field-issue debugging
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and deployment teams across Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US
• Support certification and compliance testing efforts (e.g., safety standards for commercial robots)

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 3–6 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in robotics or embedded systems
• Hands-on experience with ROS or ROS2 in a production or near-production environment (mandatory)
• Strong C++ and Python skills on Linux
• Experience deploying software on NVIDIA Jetson or comparable embedded/edge compute platforms
• Solid understanding of robot navigation concepts: SLAM, costmaps, sensor fusion, TF frames
• Comfortable with Git-based workflows, code review, and CI practices
• Fluent in Cantonese and English; Mandarin an advantage

Nice to Have

• Experience with LiDAR integration (e.g., Hesai, Ouster, Hokuyo)
• Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMR) or service robotics in commercial deployment
• Familiarity with Docker, cross-compilation, and OTA update systems
