Job summary

Anglo-Eastern in Hong Kong seeks a seasoned Chief Engineer for dry-bulk vessel fleet management. You will lead repairs, oversee PMS, and ensure compliance with survey cycles and owner expectations. The role requires extensive sailing experience and a top-tier Certificate of Competency.

The successful candidate will bring leadership, strong communication, and cost-control skills to drive safe, efficient operations across a global network.

Qualifications

• Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency is required.
• Extensive sailing experience as Chief Engineer.
• Experience with dry bulk vessels.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute repairs and dry-docking including routine and major works.
• Monitor vessel performance and PMS.
• Inspect vessels three times per year and address issues found.
• Prepare and monitor survey cycles and statutory survey requirements/repairs for compliance.
• Monitor and control spare parts and stores purchases and deliveries.
• Prepare fleet budgets for review and track spending versus budget.
• Escalate when costs may exceed budget.
• Participate in pre-purchase/pre-takeover third-party checks, inspections, and owner reports.
