The candidate should have life insurance underwriting experience at a high level, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex, cross-border risk with a customer-centric mindset.

Qualifications

• Possess a degree qualification; professional qualifications such as LOMA, ALU, ALUCA or CII desirable
• Solid experience in Life insurance underwriting across Life, CI and Medical in High Net Worth
• Substantial underwriting authority across cross-border international geographical, occupational and avocational risk assessment

Responsibilities

• Apply HSBC’s underwriting policies to ensure sound, profitable business
• Accept or authorize new business cases or policy changes within delegated authority
• Monitor and update underwriting rules to remain competitive and compliant
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes to improve customer service delivery
• Ensure compliance with procedures, policies and regulatory requirements
• Contribute to a customer-centric environment and build relationships with stakeholders
• Deal with challenges promptly and professionally
• Participate in underwriting projects, implementation and product development
