Job summary

Byron McKenzie Limited is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to craft the storefront for a luxury watch brand. Remote freelance engagement lasting 6–8 weeks, around 100 billable hours, with a HK$400–HK$600 hourly rate.

The role involves creating 18 master templates in Figma for desktop and mobile, building a clickable prototype, and ensuring designs are ready for development in collaboration with copywriters and a Shopify developer.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in UI/UX design.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior UI/UX Designer with proven experience in luxury or high-end retail e-commerce to design the complete storefront for a luxury watch brand

Role Type: Remote Freelance / Independent Contractor

Duration: 6–8 weeks

Estimated Workload: ~100 billable hours

Compensation: HK$400 – HK$600 / hour, negotiable based on experience

You will design 18 master page templates in Figma (desktop and mobile views) and build an interactive, clickable prototype of the core purchase journey. You will present your designs directly to the client team, incorporate feedback, and work with our copywriters and Lead Shopify Developer to make sure every layout is ready for development.

What you will be doing

Web UI and UX Design: Design complete wireframes and layouts across desktop and mobile for 18 core page templates (including pages such as Homepage, Product Detail Page, Collection Grid, Store Locator, Our Story, etc.) using our site inventory brief.

Clickable Figma Prototype: Build a functional, interactive prototype covering the main user journeys: Homepage navigation, product filtering, Product Detail Page (PDP) variant selection, Cart drawer, and Store Locator.

Brand Asset Application: Take existing client brand guidelines, typography rules, color palettes, and imagery to create clean, high-end layouts suited for global audiences across 5 target languages (English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, German).

Creative & Technical Execution: Balance high-end luxury storytelling with commercial functionality. You will have full creative freedom over layout structures and visual hierarchy, keeping solutions clean, scalable, and practical to implement on modern e-commerce web platforms.

Client Presentations: Present your Figma designs directly to client stakeholders in review meetings, explain your layout decisions clearly, and manage feedback.

Team Hand-Off: Deliver clean, organized Figma files (including component states, mobile navigation, and accordion specs) to our Shopify Developer, and coordinate with our Copywriting team on text container sizes across multiple languages.

What we’re looking for

5+ Years in UI/UX Design with a portfolio showing luxury retail, jewelry, horology, or premium e-commerce websites.

Figma Proficiency: Expert use of auto-layout, responsive grid systems, component states, interactive prototyping, and developer hand-off setups.

Shopify Knowledge: Clear understanding of how Shopify storefronts work, including layout constraints, image ratios, and product variant structures.

Client-Facing Experience: Ability to present design work clearly, take constructive feedback calmly, and explain design choices to non-technical stakeholders.

Language Skills: Fluent English (written and spoken) is required; Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong plus.

Experience designing multi-lingual e-commerce sites (specifically European and Asian languages).

Previous agency experience working directly with external clients.
