Job summary

Ambition, a leading insurance company in Hong Kong, is seeking an experienced IT professional to analyze business needs, design and enhance systems, and support SDLC activities across projects.

You will work with stakeholders to implement cost-effective IT solutions, ensure system stability, and stay current with cloud and AI tools. Strong Java, Spring, Hibernate, and database skills are required, plus Agile experience and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least 5 years IT experience; insurance industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of the full system development lifecycle.
• Proficient in Java, Spring and Hibernate.
• Cloud experience with Azure or similar preferred.
• Relational databases: Sybase, MSSQL or Oracle.
• Web technologies and APIs knowledge beneficial.
• Familiar with Agile ways of working.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Able to work independently and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs, workflows, and current systems.
• Design and enhance systems to improve efficiency and performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and recommend IT solutions.
• Support system development, including coding, testing, and documentation.
• Implement new systems or enhancements aligned with business goals.
• Ensure system stability and adopt up-to-date technologies where appropriate.
• Provide day-to-day system support and troubleshoot issues.
• Investigate technical problems and deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Respond to user enquiries and provide technical guidance.
• Deliver user training on systems and tools.
• Research new technologies and recommend improvements.
