Job summary

OKX is seeking an experienced Java backend engineer for the DEX Token Markets team. You will build and maintain a real-time market tracking platform supporting multiple chains, focusing on high-throughput, low-latency data processing and reliable services.

The role requires 3–5+ years of backend Java experience, strong knowledge of JVM and concurrency, and solid SQL skills. Collaboration with product and cross-functional teams is essential in a fast-paced crypto environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years building high-performance backends in Java.
• Deep understanding of JVM, IO, multithreading, and networking.
• Experience with MySQL, transactions, indexing, and SQL optimization.

About The Team

The DEX Token Markets team at OKX Web3 empowers users with a robust, data-driven platform designed for real-time market tracking and analysis across multiple DEXs and blockchains. Our platform provides traders with essential tools such as real-time charts, trade feeds, customizable token watchlists, price alerts, and advanced screeners that track key metrics like volume, price changes, and liquidity. With support for over 40 chains and hundreds of thousands of trading pairs, we offer one of the most comprehensive decentralized market monitoring solutions available. What You'll Be Doing

• Build and maintain the market tracking and analysis platform.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency backend systems, and optimize them to keep the data accurate, timely, and reliable.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure the stability and quality of our services.
• Deliver assigned features and projects with quality and on time, writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to support their needs and keep integrations running smoothly.

What We Look For In You

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or a strong STEM education background).
• 3-5+ years of extensive experience designing, building, and operating high-performance systems in Java, with a deep understanding of the JVM , IO, multithreading, concurrency, and networking.
• Familiar with databases like MySQL , with a deep understanding of transactions and indexing and hands-on experience in SQL optimization; well-acquainted with frequently-used middleware such as caching and message queues.
• Thorough command of common data structures, algorithms, and design patterns, with good coding norms.
• Clear logic, strong learning and communication skills, a passion for technology, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Haves

• Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems, with a solid grasp of core principles such as consistency, high availability, fault tolerance, and horizontal scalability applied to high-throughput data platforms.
• Familiarity with DEX mechanics and the broader Web3 ecosystem, ideally as a hands-on user or active trader, bringing genuine product intuition and a deep passion for decentralized finance.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to collaborate effectively with global and cross-functional team members.
