Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental management within the construction industry.
• Extensive experience on residential and/or commercial building projects.
• Proven experience managing safety across large-scale, complex construction developments.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, risk management, and incident investigation methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary safety teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to influence and drive positive safety behaviors across the organization.

• Lead the safety function across multiple residential and/or commercial construction projects.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Manage and mentor project safety teams and safety officers.
• Drive a strong safety culture throughout all project phases.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities on safety-related matters.
• Prepare and present safety performance reports to senior management and clients.
• Lead emergency preparedness and response planning activities.
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project safety requirements.

About the Role

Our client, a leading construction and development company, is seeking an experienced Senior Safety Manager to lead and oversee all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) functions across major residential and commercial construction projects.

This is a strategic leadership role requiring a highly experienced safety professional with a proven track record of implementing, managing, and continuously improving safety management systems within large-scale construction environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with high-rise residential developments, mixed-use projects, commercial towers, retail developments, or large-scale integrated developments.
• Experience working for developers, or project management consultancies.
• Familiarity with international safety standards and management systems.
