Job summary

BAH Partners Limited is seeking a Python Software Engineer to join a trading-focused tech team in Hong Kong. You will work with portfolio managers, researchers, and traders to build production systems that power research, risk, data, and live trading.

You will focus on core Python development, scalable data pipelines, APIs, and performance tuning, with emphasis on testing, deployment, and observability. A finance background is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of system design, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Strong engineering discipline across testing, code review, CI/CD, and observability.
• Experience with SQL, databases, APIs, or streaming technologies.
• Strong financial-markets knowledge and experience within a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, asset manager, investment bank, or fintech.
• A self-driven mindset and genuine interest in solving difficult technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable, production-grade systems using Python.
• Develop research platforms, trading tools, APIs, libraries, and data pipelines.
• Solve complex problems across distributed computing, large-scale data processing, and system performance.
• Turn research and investment requirements into reliable production technology.
• Own systems from design and development through testing, deployment, and production.
• Work directly with portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative researchers.
