Job summary

BEAM Society Limited (BSL) is seeking a Project Analyst/Senior Project Analyst to support BEAM Plus and related green building schemes. The role involves technical services for clients in the Greater Bay Area, project planning and implementation, and contributing to the BEAM Plus platform.

You will collaborate with expert panels to ensure high-quality assessments, verify deliverables for accuracy, and respond to stakeholder enquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architectural Design, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Town Planning or related discipline.
• Senior Project Analyst: minimum 2 years’ experience in green building/sustainability design consultancy and submittals for credible green building certification; Project Analyst role possible with less experience.
• BEAM Pro / BEAM Affiliate and other green building qualifications are an advantage.
• Knowledge of building design and simulation software (AutoCAD, Rhino3D, IES, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, PVsyst, RETScreen, DIALux, Radiance, etc.) is an advantage.
• Business fluency in English and Putonghua.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing technical service for BEAM Plus and/or related green building schemes to clients in the Greater Bay Area.
• Assist in planning, managing, and implementing projects and initiatives related to BEAM Plus and related schemes.
• Assist in design and implementation of green building assessment schemes on the organization’s digital platform.
• Collaborate with committees, expert panels, and assessors to collect information and comments on project assessments.
• Verify assessors’ deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of project assessments.
• Handle enquiries from stakeholders and liaise with supervisor to prepare responses.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

BEAM Society Limited (BSL) is an independent, non-profit membership organization established in 2010. BSL is also recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap112) and as a public body under the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance (Cap 201) since 2016.

BEAM Society was established in 1996, which was later incorporated in 2010 as BEAM Society Limited. Being the developer and owner of the Building Environmental Assessment Method (BEAM), BSL is committed to administering and developing the BEAM Plus Assessment Tools. We offer impartial assessment on building sustainability and build capacity by providing training for BEAM practitioners – BEAM Professionals (BEAM Pro) and BEAM Affiliates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing technical service for BEAM Plus and/or any other associated green building assessment schemes to clients based in the Greater Bay Area.
• Assist in planning, managing, and implementing projects and initiatives related to the development and promotion of BEAM Plus and/or any other associated green building assessment schemes operated by the organization.
• Assist in the design and implementation of green building assessment schemes on the organization’s digital platform.
• Collaborate with relevant committees, expert panels, and assessors to collect information and comments on project assessments.
• Verify assessors’ deliverables to ensure compliance with the requirements outlined in the relevant Assessment Manual and other relevant FAQs/circular letters, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality of project assessments.
• Handle enquiries from relevant stakeholders and liaise with the supervisor to prepare responses.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architectural Design, Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Surveying, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Town Planning or related discipline.
• For Senior Project Analyst, minimum 2 years’ experience in green building and sustainability design consultancy and shall have the experience in preparing submittals for a credible green building certification scheme. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the role of Project Analyst.
• Possession of valid BEAM Pro, BEAM Affiliate and other green building qualifications is an advantage.
• Knowledge of software for building design and simulation, e.g. AutoCAD, Rhino3D, IES, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, PVsyst, RETScreen, DIALux, Radiance, CFX, FLUENT, PHOENICS, Star-CCM+, INSUL, etc. is an advantage.
• Business fluency in English and Putonghua

Other Requirements

The potential candidate may occasionally need to travel across the Greater Bay Area and be deployed to work in the organization’s Qianhai offices to support the organization’s GBA operations.
