Job summary

AIA Hong Kong and Macau is seeking an experienced technology leader to provide technical leadership for Customer Platform, architecture governance, and engineering best practices across BAU and strategic vendor-driven initiatives.

The role combines technical design, hands-on leadership of engineering teams, and governance across cloud and on-premise environments to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions with a customer-centric focus.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in technical leadership, solution architecture, or senior engineering roles.
• Strong experience delivering enterprise-scale systems in complex environments.
• Hands-on cloud experience (Azure preferred).
• Ideally AI knowledge and experience.
• Solid understanding of modern application architecture, APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
• Architecture or cloud certifications are an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership (70%): Lead solution design and technical architecture for customer-facing platforms; provide hands-on technical leadership to engineering teams; translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions; ensure adherence to architecture standards, governance, and best practices; collaborate with product, engineering, cloud, security, and risk stakeholders; drive system integration across cloud and on-premise environments; contribute to technology roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Platform Operations (30%): Lead team to monitor system performance and address issues to minimize downtime; manage incident, problem, and change management processes; provide a contact and escalation point for operational delivery matters; oversee routine IT operations and maintenance tasks; plan, coordinate, and execute software releases.
