Job summary

BTSE is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join the core infrastructure team. You will design, deploy, and maintain scalable PostgreSQL clusters on AWS, automate provisioning with IaC, and optimize queries for peak trading and analytics workloads.

You will monitor 24/7 production systems, implement backups and DR strategies, and collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and engineering to improve performance, reliability, and observability across our data platforms.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience managing PostgreSQL databases in production.
• Strong knowledge of SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and PostgreSQL performance tuning.
• Proven ability to design and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant systems with minimal downtime.
• Experience supporting 24/7 production systems, with on-call or incident response involvement.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, EBS, S3, IAM).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, PITR, and HA solutions (Repmgr, Patroni, ProxySQL).
• Experience automating infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in Linux scripting (Bash, Python, or Go).
