Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join the Enterprise Network Services team in Hong Kong. You will deploy and support critical network infrastructure across data centers, cloud, and campus environments, prioritizing uptime and security for internal and client-facing platforms.

The role requires extensive experience with routing, switching, data center networking, security, and production change management.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Proven experience executing security patching and production network upgrades in large-scale environments.
  • Experience in financial services, trading, telecommunications, cloud, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Strong understanding of network resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery principles.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support enterprise-scale network infrastructure across data centers, cloud, and campus environments.
  • Provide Tier-3 support and technical leadership during major incidents and escalations.
  • Develop and maintain network standards, updated documentation, and engineering procedures.
  • Lead planning, testing, risk assessment, and deployment of critical security and infrastructure patches.
  • Drive execution of complex maintenance activities with minimal customer or business impact.
  • Coordinate maintenance windows, rollback plans, validation testing, and post-implementation reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements through timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Operations teams to prioritize remediation activities.
  • Coordinate end-to-end remediation activities across multiple stakeholders including business owners and third-party vendors.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-onSenior Network Engineerto join our Enterprise Network Services team. This role is responsible fordeploying, andsupporting critical network infrastructure across both internal enterprise environments and external customer-facing platforms.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience planning and executingcritical network security and infrastructure patch rolloutsin fast-paced, highly regulated, and uptime-sensitive environments.Therole requires deep expertise in routing, switching, data center networking, internet connectivity, network security, and production change management.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of executing complex infrastructure changes with minimal risk, maintaining network resiliency, and supporting business-critical services operating in 24x7 global environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement, and support enterprise-scale network infrastructure across data centers, cloud, andcampusenvironments.
  • Provide Tier-3 support and technical leadership during major incidents and escalations.
  • Develop and maintain network standards,updatedocumentation, and engineering procedures.
  • Lead planning, testing, risk assessment, and deployment of critical security and infrastructure patches across production environments.
  • Drive execution of complex maintenance activities with minimal customer or business impact.

  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory requirements through timely remediation of vulnerabilities.
  • Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Application, and Operations teams to prioritize and execute remediation activities.
  • Coordinate end-to-end remediation activities including maintenance windows and pre/post validations across multiple stakeholders, including business application owners, multiple infrastructure teams (Unix, Load Balancer, Firewalletc), security teams, and all relevant third-party vendors (Cisco/Aristaetc).
  • Maintain high availability and resilience of business-critical services.
  • Monitor network performance and proactively identify risks before they impact production.
  • Develop automation solutions using Python, Ansible, or similar tools to improve operationaland deploymentefficiency.
  • Standardize deployment procedures and reduce manual intervention through automation.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous process improvement and infrastructure optimization.
Required Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Cloud observability skill set and cloud native tools likeCloudWatch, APIs, VPC reachability analyzer, Network Watcher etc.
  • Leaf-Spine ArchitecturesacrossCiscoandArista Platforms
  • Ansible,Python,Terraform,GithubandJiraexpertise along with network knowledge on various protocolslike BGP/OSPF etc.
Required Experience
  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Proven experience executing critical security patching and production network upgrades in large-scale environments.
  • Strong experience supporting both internal infrastructure and internet-facing production services.
  • Experience operating in financial services, trading, telecommunications, cloud, or other mission-critical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex maintenance and migration activities during scheduled change windows.
  • Strong understanding of network resiliency, high availability, and disaster recovery principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Knowledge of network automation frameworks.
  • Experience with large-scale global data center environments.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery and DevOps methodologies.
