Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced Load Balancing Infrastructure Operations professional in Hong Kong. You will support a global, multi‑vendor load balancing environment and work within a follow‑the‑sun model across regions to ensure reliable application delivery.

Responsibilities include handling high volumes of devices, fault analysis, automation and scripting initiatives, and documentation. Strong TCP/IP, Unix, and hands‑on with F5 BigIP and A10 Thunder are required.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS.
• Comfortable with Unix system administration.
• Deep understanding of F5 BigIP and A10 Thunder devices.
• Competence in at least one major programming language or platform (Ansible, Perl, Python, PowerShell, or C#).
• Excellent organization and multi-tasking in outage or incident scenarios.
• Clear communication with developers, engineers and remote team members.

Responsibilities

• Use network tooling to address connectivity issues, perform fault analysis, diagnose and resolve issues in distributed systems.
• Model configurations and monitor services via GUI console in the in‑house management system.

• Write and maintain concise technical documentation.

Job Overview

The Load Balancing Infrastructure Operations Level 3 team is part of the Enterprise Computing Organization at Morgan Stanley. This global team focuses on core infrastructure supporting Application Delivery across the firm, including a multi‑vendor Load Balancer environment that provides services to both internal and external clients. Team members will operate within a global follow‑the‑sun model, taking responsibility for these technologies across regions.

Responsibilities

• Support a high number of devices and application flows in an enterprise environment, providing a cloud‑like experience for developers.
• Use sophisticated network tooling to address connectivity issues, perform fault analysis, avoid failures, and diagnose and resolve any functional issues in distributed system environments.
• Work with an in‑house application management system that simplifies deployment and management of application delivery components; model configurations using the system’s relational data model and control and monitor services over the network via a GUI console.
• Address L2 escalations.
• Drive process improvement, automation, and scripting initiatives.
• Write and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols (TCP, IP), HTTP, and DNS.
• Comfortable with Unix system administration.
• Deep understanding of F5 BigIP and A10 Thunder Application Delivery Devices.
• Administrative competence in at least one major programming language or platform (e.g., Ansible, Perl, Python, PowerShell, or C#).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in high‑pressure outage handling, management, or resolution scenarios.
• Effective time‑management skills to prioritize meetings for multiple projects, support user requests, address incidents, and work on projects, as well as documentation.
• Effective communication with various user groups (developers, engineers) and remote team members.
• Drive to learn about new technologies, techniques and to be an integral member of the team.
