Job summary

Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE) seeks a Senior Manager/Manager (Clinical Guidelines) to oversee the prioritisation, formulation and dissemination of evidence-based clinical guidelines and standards for the sector. The appointee will build strong relationships with healthcare organisations, academic institutions and government agencies.

They will provide secretarial and executive support to relevant committees, ensure efficient functioning of clinical committees,

Qualifications

• University degree required; higher degree in Clinical Science or public health preferred but not mandatory.
• Substantial knowledge in clinical guideline development, evidence-based medicine, or healthcare quality assurance.
• Strong clinical and scientific background; experience in public organisations/healthcare sector preferred.

The Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE) is a professional platform in Hong Kong, dedicated to developing evidence-based clinical protocols and exploring service quality and efficiency standards across both public and private healthcare sectors. Its mission is to enhance healthcare standards in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM) is responsible for establishing a Secretariat to support the operations of IMACE. The following staff is now being recruited to join the IMACE Secretariat.

Senior Manager/Manager (Clinical Guidelines)

Major Responsibilities:

Oversee the prioritization, formulation and dissemination of evidence-based clinical guidelines/protocols, service quality and efficiency standards for the sector.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare organisations, academic institutions, and government agencies.

To provide secretarial and executive support to relevant committees and panels.

Ensure efficient and effective functioning of clinical committee and panels.

Support the development of health promotion materials and advise on clinical and scientific matters.

Work closely with and support the relevant staff of the main Academy Secretariat as needed and perform relevant duties commensurate with the position as assigned by the Academy.

Requirements:

University graduate. A higher degree in Clinical Science or public health is preferred but not a must.

At least 10 years of professional / managerial experience in healthcare setting / clinical research (for Senior Manager post), or at least 5 years of relevant experience for consideration at the Manager rank.

Substantial knowledge in clinical guideline development, evidence-based medicine, or healthcare quality assurance.

Strong clinical and scientific background and knowledge.

Experience in public organisations / healthcare sector is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.

Solid experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.

Familiarity with Hong Kong’s healthcare system and regulatory environment would be needed.
