About the Role
This role provides independent assurance to senior management and the Board over actuarial and related business processes across AIA Group, with a focus on actuarial and financial risk areas. It drives audit transformation by designing and implementing data driven audit tools and automating audit tests through analysis of control frameworks, audit methodologies, and actuarial processes. By leveraging advanced data analytics, automation, and AI, and partnering closely with actuarial, finance, risk, and data stakeholders, the role enhances audit efficiency, coverage, and insight.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Audit Transformation and Automation
- Collaborate with LBU or specialist audit teams to develop and implement tailored audit automation for individual LBUs, addressing unique business challenges.
- Identify opportunities to help and work across the business units (within GIA and with the other departments) to optimise the audit operational processes.
- Design, develop, and enhance data‑enabled audit tools, analytics, and workflows to support population testing, anomaly detection, automated commentary, and more consistent audit conclusions, in line with GIA standards and Group governance expectations.
- Apply professional judgment when interpreting outputs from data‑driven testing.
- Support audit delivery through the use of advanced technologies and analytics
- Stakeholder & Governance Engagement
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders in Group Office and Local Business units to deliver constructive audit outcomes and enable effective audit automation.
- Capability Building & Continuous Improvement
- Keep abreast of emerging data analytics and AI technologies and trends, providing strategic recommendations to enhance GIA’s analytics capabilities.
- Contribute to ad‑hoc initiatives and special reviews
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Eight years of experience in building data science/ process automation/ Actuarial model/ AI solutions related role preferably in audit, risk, compliance department, or control functions (Applicants who possess less extensive experience may be eligible for consideration for the position of Manager)
- Knowledge of actuarial software (Prophet), AI relevant experience or qualification, as well as advanced knowledge of other data analytic tools and IT, are preferred.
- Good command of both oral and written English, with strong analytical, written/verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Good project management and organisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet milestones within time, cost, and quality constraints.
