Job summary

Lenovo is seeking a senior UNIX/Linux System Engineer to provide administration, patching, and troubleshooting for enterprise Linux and legacy UNIX in government and enterprise projects.

You will lead security hardening, high availability, and incident management, interfacing with government clients and cross-functional teams. English and Cantonese proficiency is required; HK permanent resident status and ability to obtain security clearance are expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High Diploma or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 6-8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise UNIX/Linux system engineering.
• Technical: Oracle Linux, Oracle Virtualization, Oracle Linux 7/8/9, Oracle OVM, Oracle KVM.
• Certifications: RHCSA/RHCE or OCP in Oracle Linux System Administration preferred.
• Language: English and Cantonese proficiency. Interfacing with government clients and cross-functional teams.
• Residency/clearance: Hong Kong Permanent Resident; willing to undergo background checks and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• UNIX/Linux Infrastructure Operations: administer, patch, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux and legacy UNIX (AIX) for container backends.
• Government Compliance Security Hardening: ensure workloads comply with HK government security regulations and container security best practices.
• High Availability Disaster Recovery: configure clustering, storage, ingress controllers, and backups to achieve 99.99%+ availability for critical services.
• Incident Problem Management: act as Level 3 escalation tech expert, perform root-cause analysis and durable corrective actions.
• Audit Documentation: maintain architecture topologies, SOPs, and audit trails for frequent security risk assessments.
