Job summary

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) in Hong Kong seeks a senior academic leader to oversee the Allied Health Assistant Training Centre. You will drive programme development, validation, and accreditation while serving on programme boards and committees.

You will maintain training quality and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to advance health education initiatives. You will lead projects, implement promotional strategies, and conduct teaching duties, including supervising student projects.

Job description

Major Duties:

(a) To oversee the preparation works of the Allied Health Assistant Training Centre;

(b) To play a leading role in initiating and developing new services and programmes, and the review, revision, validation and accreditation of programmes;

(c) To act as Programme Leader and serve in Programme Board(s), Boards of Examiners and other academic / management committees and work groups as required;

(d) To be responsible for maintaining the standard and quality of the training programmes;

(e) To work closely with all stakeholders, both internal and external, for the development of the Allied Health Assistant Training Centre;

(f) To provide leadership in formulation and implementation of different projects and promotional strategies; and

(g) To perform teaching duties and supervise student projects

Requirements:

(a) A recognised degree in Chinese Medicine, preferably with post-graduate qualification and relevant professional qualifications;

(b) Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioners under the Chinese Medicine Ordinance (Cap. 549) in Hong Kong and valid practicing certificate issued by Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong;

(c) At least 5 years' post-registration clinical experience in Chinese medicine, preference will be given to candidates with solid experience in Orthopedics and Traumatology in Chinese Medicine;

(d) Good academic standing, strong academic leadership and capability to take forward the initiatives for the development of the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Discipline, including the development of in-service training programmes and corporate training;

(e) Good networking capability for organisational development and be able to establish linkages with companies and organisations of the HLS Discipline and other major stakeholders;

(f) Good management, entrepreneurial, interpersonal and communication skills; and

(g) Good proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Notes:

(1) The initial posting is in IVE (Kwai Chung). The appointee(s) may be posted to other work location(s) to suit the operational needs.

(2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a written assessment.

(3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and at different work locations as assigned.
