Job summary

The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) invites applications for a Chinese Medicine Practitioner II to support the Chinese Medicine Division at our Tseung Kwan O site. You will coordinate services, assist in SOP design, and contribute to training, research ethics, and clinical pathways.

Ideal candidates are CMP registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong, with 0–2 years post-licensure, a CM Bachelor’s degree, and strong communication in English and Putonghua.

Qualifications

• CMP registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong.
• 0-2 years post-registration experience as CMP.
• Bachelor Degree in CM or related disciplines.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (Putonghua).
• Proficiency in MS Office applications; SPSS.

Responsibilities

THE CHINESE MEDICINE HOSPITAL OF HONG KONG (CMHHK)

Since commencing phased services in December 2025, the Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong (CMHHK) has been serving the community as a flagship institution leading Chinese medicine (CM) development. Controlled by the Health Bureau and operated under a public-private partnership model, CMHHK is managed by Hong Kong Baptist University through its incorporated operator, the HKBU Chinese Medicine Hospital Company Limited. We are dedicated to five key missions: clinical services, education and training, research, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and creating health value.

CMHHK offers comprehensive CM care through inpatient, day-patient, outpatient, and community-based programmes, with 65% of services government-subsidised to ensure accessible healthcare. As a pioneer in integrated Chinese-western medicine, CMHHK operates three clinical service models tailored to diverse patient needs. Currently in our first year, we focus on outpatient and day inpatient services, with full inpatient services and a 20-bed clinical trial centre to be progressively launched within five years. We initially offer 12 CM specialty services—including post-stroke rehabilitation and cancer care, with remaining services to follow by 2030.

As the teaching hospital for three local universities, CMHHK collaborates closely with academic partners on clinical standards, training, and research. We have also established strategic partnerships with Chinese Mainland hospitals, facilitating talent exchange and research networking. Through international collaborations with institutions in Germany and Australia, we aim to position Hong Kong as a global bridge for CM advancement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating the Chinese Medicine Division;
• Assist the consultant in designing the Service Standard Operation Procedure;
• Assist in developing training protocols and establishing the training center;
• Assist in designing research protocols and managing research ethical guidelines;
• Assist in designing clinical pathways, and provide clinical services duties;
• Participate in hospital activities, including but not limited to clinical trainings, teaching activities, research developments, and support in CM public education and outreach activities;
• Assist CM-division related Procurement specification design and clarification;
• Handle IT-related procedures and system design;
• Design, organise and coordinate CM promotional campaign in the community to promote the concept of CMHHK;
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or his/her delegates; and
• Shift work on public holidays and weekends

Requirements

• CMP registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong;
• 0-2 years or more post-registration experience as a CMP;
• Bachelor Degree holder in CM or relevant disciplines;
• Passionate in contributing the establishment of CMHHK;
• Meticulousness, excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of responsibility;
• Self-motivation with the ability to work independently as well as with a team;
• An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), SPSS and Chinese word processing.

Work location: The Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hong Kong in Tseung Kwan O.
