Job summary

Pinpoint Asia is looking for a senior Java-focused software engineer to own mission-critical systems in a hybrid role. You will build real-time derivatives workflows, modernize core apps to microservices, and participate in on-call production support.

Strong Java on Linux, SQL, and scripting skills are essential, with FIX/REST experience and exposure to containers a plus. This role offers direct system ownership within a major market institution and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of hands-on software development experience on large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong core Java background on Linux with solid SQL and shell scripting.
• Experience with FIX protocol and building or consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with financial derivatives (Futures, Options) or risk models is a plus.
• Exposure to microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure is welcomed.
• Python or Perl for automation and data validation.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and release resilient Java services handling real-time derivatives workflows.
• Participate in modernizing core applications toward containers and microservices.
• Troubleshoot production issues with large-scale systems and diagnose complex stack traces.
• Review design and code changes to maintain quality, performance, and security.
• Join rostered on-call production support rotation including nights and holidays.
