Senior Java Engineer – High-Performance Trading Platforms

Job summary

BAH Partners in Hong Kong seeks an experienced Java Developer to build and enhance core investment and trading technology platforms. Design and develop high-performance Java/Spring applications, and build scalable microservices with REST, gRPC and data pipelines.

You will work closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, supporting trading, accounts, fund transfers and authentication workflows. Experience in finance is preferred.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security and JPA/Hibernate.
• Experience building microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with REST, gRPC, Kafka and Redis.
• Experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL, SQL optimization and data modelling.
• Good understanding of high-concurrency, high-availability and fault-tolerant systems.
• Strong communication skills with stakeholders.
• Financial services/investment management experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance, highly available Java/Spring applications.
• Build scalable backend systems using microservices architecture.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs, gRPC services and event-driven systems.
• Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Build services supporting trading, accounts, fund transfers, authentication and digital asset workflows.
• Contribute to AI-enabled applications and process automation via backend services, APIs and data pipelines.
• Improve system performance, scalability and resilience while troubleshooting production issues.
