Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Algorithmic Trading Engineer to own the architectural vision and scaling of a high- performance trading platform. The role is front-office oriented and involves close collaboration with traders and product teams to ship rapid functionality upgrades.

The candidate will drive design decisions, implement ultra-low-latency systems, and work within a global engineering network while navigating regulatory and risk considerations.

Formación

• Deep production Java experience with JVM tuning, GC, non-blocking IO.
• Hands-on ultra-low-latency engineering with sub-microsecond execution and Zero-GC.
• Strong distributed systems design; experience with Scala (or ability to learn quickly).
• Familiarity with Linux kernel, PTP, and latency monitoring via packet capture.
• Solid grasp of equities trading, order lifecycles, FIX messaging, and Asian markets.

• Drive core strategic decisions for the design, architecture, and expansion of the regional trading platform.
• Build and optimize highly scalable, ultra-low-latency, and high-availability systems.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a high-calibre Senior Algorithmic Trading Engineer for a permanent, front-office role in Hong Kong. In this position, you will own the architectural vision, design, and scaling of our ultra-low-latency distributed algorithmic trading platform across Asia.

We are looking for top talent globally and can fully relocate the successful candidate to Hong Kong to join our premier engineering team.

• Java Expertise: Deep production experience with JVM tuning, garbage collection, and non-blocking IO.
• Low-Latency Mastery: Hands-on experience with sub-microsecond execution, Zero-GC architectures, and micro-benchmarking.
• Distributed Systems & Languages: Strong distributed systems design skills; solid experience with Scala (or a proven ability to learn fast).
• Infrastructure Knowledge: Familiarity with the Linux kernel, PTP, and packet-capture-based latency monitoring.
