Job summary

Selby Jennings has partnered with an Asia-based multi-billion USD hedge fund to seek an experienced Industrials Equity Analyst for its investment team in Hong Kong or Shenzhen. The role targets candidates with a genuine passion for investing and deep understanding of the Industrials value chain.

The analyst will independently generate, assess, and monitor long and short ideas, while working closely with investment professionals across sectors and regions on research and portfolio initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years buyside public markets experience
• Industrials coverage including upstream and downstream
• Greater China expertise; regional exposure a plus
• Ability to independently research, evaluate, and monitor long/short investments
• Strong financial modelling and fundamental research skills
• Structured research framework with adaptability to market conditions
• Willingness to conduct cross-regional and cross-sector research
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental equity research on Industrials stocks across the value chain
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and differentiated investment theses
• Identify and evaluate long and short investment opportunities across the sector
• Monitor industry developments, supply chain dynamics, competitive positioning, and catalysts
• Generate actionable investment ideas and present recommendations to the team
• Participate in company meetings, industry conferences, and expert calls
• Collaborate with investment professionals across regions on research and portfolio initiatives
