Selby Jennings has partnered with a leading Asset Management firm in the search for a Technology Equity Research Analyst to join its Hong Kong investment team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Equity Research, this individual will work closely with Portfolio Managers to conduct fundamental research and generate investment ideas across the Technology sector, with coverage spanning Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, and broader TMT, primarily within Greater China markets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of buy-side or sell-side equity research experience.
• Strong financial modelling capabilities.
• Technical academic background preferred.
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental equity research across the Technology sector, focusing on Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, and related industries.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models, industry analyses, and investment theses.
• Monitor industry developments, competitive dynamics, and emerging technology trends.
• Generate actionable investment ideas and present recommendations to Portfolio Managers and the wider investment team.
• Participate in company meetings, earnings calls, channel checks, and industry research projects.
• Collaborate closely with senior investment professionals to support portfolio construction and investment decision-making.

The team is particularly interested in candidates who possess a genuine passion for investing and a strong technical foundation, with academic backgrounds in disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Semiconductor Engineering, or other related fields.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant buy-side or sell-side equity research experience
• Prior coverage of Technology, TMT, Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, or related sectors preferred
• Strong fundamental research and financial modelling capabilities
• Technical academic background highly preferred
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills required
• Demonstrated interest in public market investing and stock selection
• Willingness to be based in Hong Kong
