Job summary

One Paramount Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced rates and FX portfolio specialist in Hong Kong. You will develop and translate macro insights into actionable rate and currency strategies, design portfolios including government bonds, futures and swaps, and generate trade ideas tied to duration, yield curves, and FX views.

You will monitor exposures, produce performance reports, and collaborate with PMs, operations and compliance to ensure accurate execution and robust controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering, or a quantitative discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience managing or supporting rates and FX portfolios in asset management or investment banking.
• Strong technical expertise in government bonds, futures, swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX spot/forwards, and basic options.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg/Tradeweb; Python is advantageous.
• Strong quantitative and analytical abilities to translate macro insights into trade ideas and strategies.
• High accuracy in trade execution, derivatives structuring, data handling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop perspectives on inflation, growth trends, monetary policy, and capital flows, translating into actionable rates and FX strategies.
• Contribute to design and management of portfolios including government bonds, futures, swaps, FX spot/forwards; ensure alignment with mandates and risk budgets.
• Generate investment ideas and execute trades to express views on duration, yield curves, inflation breakevens, and currencies.
• Monitor exposures and performance using duration, curve positioning, tracking error, and stress testing; rebalance when needed.
• Conduct country-level analysis of central bank policy, fiscal conditions, bond market dynamics, and balance of payments.
• Produce performance reports attributing returns to duration, curve, currency, and carry.
• Collaborate with PMs, operations, and compliance to ensure precise execution and regulatory adherence.
• Enhance dashboards and valuation models (curve analysis, FX tools) to support decisions.
• Prepare market commentary and client documents explaining rates, FX outlooks, and fund positioning.
