Job summary

HKUMed – The University of Hong Kong invites applications for Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer (several posts) in the Genomics Core of the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (CPOS). The roles involve operating advanced scientific instruments and coordinating service logistics to support core service and research.

Applicants should hold a Master’s degree or above in a relevant bioscience, with at least two years of lab experience, and be proficient in Chinese and English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or above in Biomedical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years’ relevant laboratory work experience.
• Strong passion in science and technologies.
• Advantage but not necessary: Working knowledge of existing technologies and laboratory accreditation experience, and holder of Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Part I/II license issued by HKMLT Board
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, meticulous and enjoy teamwork
• Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English
• Competency in MS Office applications
• Candidates with higher qualifications or more experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Technical Officer

Responsibilities

• Operate sophisticated scientific instruments to support core service and research
• Liaise with users to coordinate service logistics
• Provide technical advice to users
• Evaluate and validate new technologies
