Job summary

Bullish is seeking an experienced engineer for the Post-trade Brokerage Engineering team in Hong Kong. You will design and build high-availability Java/Micronaut services, with Python and BigQuery for data workloads, delivering statements and reconciliations for institutional clients.

Responsibilities include meeting regulatory reporting commitments, owning end-to-end production systems, and collaborating across global teams to translate regulatory and business requirements into production

Qualifications

• 5+ years building production systems in financial services or another high-stakes, regulated environment.
• Strong fundamentals across backend and data technologies with the right tool for the job (Java, Python, or similar).
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and experience with analytical stores (BigQuery or equivalent).
• Proven delivery of fault-tolerant systems with testing, observability, and HA/DR practices.
• Test-driven, agile working style with end-to-end ownership.
• Ability to leverage Large Language Models to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts across global teams.
• Degree in CS, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Design and build high-availability Java/Micronaut services across post-trade and analytics platforms, with Python and BigQuery for data workloads.
• Deliver statements, confirmations, and reconciliations used as source of truth for clients.
• Meet regulatory reporting commitments and extend coverage to new jurisdictions.
• Own production systems end-to-end with clear SLOs, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response.
• Design event schemas and data models emphasizing reconciliation, idempotency, and auditability.
• Collaborate with Trading Engineering, Compliance, Risk, and Finance across global teams.
• Contribute to code quality through reviews, TDD, and mentoring.
