Michael Page in Hong Kong is seeking an experienced SMPS/PSU design engineer to lead power conversion architecture for global projects. You will drive concept to mass production, prototype builds, testing, and documentation across cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate has 5+ years in SMPS, knowledge of LLC, Flyback, PFC, DC-DC topologies, strong analytical skills, and hands-on lab experience; occasional travel and overseas collaboration with factories and suppliers are required.

Responsabilités

• Lead conceptual design of SMPS and power conversion circuits.
• Develop power architectures including LLC, Flyback, PFC, DC-DC.
• Build prototypes and perform design verification testing.
• Generate technical reports for product validation.
• Create production test plans and support manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot, root cause analysis, and failure investigations.
• Support NPI activities and ensure performance, quality, reliability, and cost targets.
• Collaborate with R&D, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Drive continuous improvement for efficiency, product performance, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical support for overseas factories, suppliers, and customers.
• Occasional travel is required.

Job Description

• Lead conceptual design of switched-mode power supply (SMPS& PSU) and power conversion circuits through calculation, simulation, and analysis
• Develop and evaluate power architectures including Flyback, LLC, PFC, DC-DC, and related topologies
• Build engineering prototypes and perform design verification testing
• Generate technical reports and engineering documentation for product validation
• Create production test plans and support manufacturing implementation
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and failure investigations for design and production issues
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensure products meet performance, quality, reliability, and cost requirements
• Collaborate with R&D, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams throughout the product lifecycle
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, product performance, and manufacturability
• Provide technical support for overseas factories, suppliers, and customers
• Occasional travel is required

The Successful Applicant

• 5+ years of solid experience in SMPS design and development
• Strong knowledge of power conversion topologies, including LLC, Flyback, PFC, Buck, and DC-DC converters
• Extensive understanding of power supply components, magnetics, transformers, EMI/EMC, and thermal design
• Experience in product validation, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and manufacturing support
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools and laboratory test equipment
• Experience in NPI, product lifecycle management, and cross-functional collaboration
• Digital Power Control, PMBus, DSP, or Server Power Supply experience is an advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
