Job summary

Keyrus in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a major banking database migration from PostgreSQL to AWS. The role focuses on hands-on migration work across databases and workloads within a regulated financial services environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong PostgreSQL/SQL skills and proven experience migrating enterprise databases to AWS, leveraging RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, and AWS DMS. Onsite HK for the duration of the assignment.

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Database Engineering or similar roles.
• Strong hands on PostgreSQL and SQL expertise.
• Proven experience migrating PostgreSQL or enterprise databases to AWS.
• Strong experience with AWS RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL and AWS Database Migration Service.
• Experience with production critical database migration projects.
• Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, performance optimisation and troubleshooting.
• Previous banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with similar cloud or database migration programmes within a bank would be a strong advantage.
• Python, Terraform, CloudFormation or AWS certifications are advantageous.

Keyrus is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Hong Kong and support a major banking database migration programme from PostgreSQL to AWS.

We are looking for an experienced, hands on Data Engineer who has ideally worked on similar database or cloud migration projects within banking or financial services environments.
