Job summary

Clouds Shore Limited in Hong Kong is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data pipelines, leveraging modern tools and cloud data warehouses. You will partner with Analytics, Product, and Data Science teams to deliver production-ready datasets for reporting and ML deployment.

The role emphasizes data governance, privacy, and RBAC, while optimizing SQL performance and storage costs across large datasets.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in database architecture, upgrades and migration
• Solid experience in database administration
• Familiar with shell scripting is an advantage
• Excellent communication and collaboration; Cantonese and Mandarin proficiency

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and real-time data ingestion and transformation pipelines using modern tools.
• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data models within cloud data warehouses.
• Implement automated testing, data observability, and monitoring to ensure data integrity and track SLAs.
• Tune resource-heavy SQL queries, optimize storage costs, and improve pipeline execution times across large datasets.
• Partner with Analytics, Product, and Data Science teams to deliver production-ready datasets for reporting and ML deployment.
• Enforce data governance, privacy compliance, secure data handling, and RBAC.
• Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentorship of junior and mid-level data engineers.
• Oversee recruitment and supervision of the Data Team

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust batch and real-time data ingestion and transformation pipelines using modern tools.


• Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data models (dimensional modeling, semantic layers) within cloud data warehouses.


• Implement automated testing, data observability, and monitoring frameworks to guarantee data integrity, track SLAs, and proactively resolve pipeline failures.


• Tune resource-heavy SQL queries, optimize storage costs, and improve pipeline execution times across large datasets.


• Partner with Analytics, Product, and Data Science teams to understand data requirements and deliver production-ready datasets for reporting and ML deployment.


• Enforce data governance, privacy compliance, secure data handling, and role-based access controls.


• Drive engineering best practices through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentorship of junior and mid-level data engineers.


• Oversee recruitment and supervision of the Data Team

Job Specifications
