Job summary

HSO, a trusted advisor and leading Microsoft Data & AI partner, seeks a data/AI professional in Hong Kong to join our team serving clients across Asia. You will report to a supervisor based in Hong Kong and contribute to Microsoft data and analytics projects.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing Lakehouse solutions with Azure technologies, building ETL/ELT jobs, creating documentation with Generative AI, and guiding end-to-end delivery from development to go-live support.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or related discipline.
• At least 3 years building Lakehouse or Data Warehouse and ETL development.
• Proficiency in MS SQL and Python is required.
• Knowledge of Azure Fabric, Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake and Purview is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Cantonese is essential.

• Understand requirements for Power BI, AI Agent and ML tasks and apply Agentic Data Engineering.
• Analyze, design, develop and implement Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions with Azure tech.
• Develop complex ETL/ELT jobs using Fabric, Synapse, SSAIS/DevOps tools.
• Create or update documentation with Generative AI to support development.
• End-to-end involvement from development to go-live support.

This position will be report to a supervisor based at Hong Kong and serving the clients in Asian countries.

Job Description (Responsibility)

• Understanding the requirements of Power BI, AI Agent and Machine Learning, and able to use various agents to do development task (“Agentic Data Engineering”).
• Analyze, Design, Develop and implement of Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solution with Microsoft Azure Technologies.
• Develop complex ETL / ELT job for Data Warehouse / Lakehouse primarily with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Integration Services and Azure DevOps.
• Create or update documentation with GenerativeAI in support of development, which may include detailed specifications and data flow diagrams.
• End to end involvement with the team from development, implementation, UAT till go-live support.

Requirements:

• Able to work under minimal supervision, self-motivated, can-do attitude and excellent analytical mind.
• Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology and / or relevant disciplines
• At least 3 years working experience related to building Lakehouse or Data Warehouse, and ETL development. Build from zero is highly appreciated.
• Proficiency level of MS SQL and Python is a must.
• Knowledge about Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Microsoft Purview is a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of medallion architecture design, software development processes.
• Knowledge in using BI tools, SSIS, SSAS is an added advantage.
• Knowledge in data governance, database security, Azure network security is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in any CRM/ERP/POS/ECOM is a plus, SAP/Oracle/Dynamics 365/Salesforce are preferred.
• Proficient in spoken and written English is a MUST
• Proficient in spoken Cantonese is a MUST.
