Job summary

Qualifications

• BSEE or higher with Electrical/Component Engineering background.
• 2+ years in component validation or reliability engineering.
• Familiar with HSSIO components (PCIe, USB4, UFS5, DDR).
• Experience with camera modules and/or image sensors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review third party component datasheets for accuracy and alignment with Qualcomm platform requirements.
• Collaborate with suppliers to develop custom component solutions.
• Develop and implement a Component Validation Plan.
• Work with Taiwan Camera Module Integrators and Sensor Tech Team.
• Coordinate with internal teams across Taiwan, San Diego, and Shanghai on hardware design needs and validations.
• Assist hardware designers to identify new product requirements and perform component searches.

Overview

The successful candidate will operate as a member of the CHS Component Engineering team. Responsibilities include reviewing third party component datasheets for accuracy, working with suppliers to find component solutions, working with suppliers to develop custom component solutions, working with internal systems teams, and test engineering to validate 3rd party components.

• Responsible for responding to AI Data Center component requirements.
• Obtain and Review AI Data Center component datasheets for accuracy, completeness and best in class alignment with Qualcomm Platform Requirements.
• Develop a Component Validation Plan and implement.
• Work with Taiwan Camera Module Integrators (CMIs).
• Work with Taiwan Sensor Tech Team.
• Work with Taiwan XR Imaging Team.
• Work with San Diego and Shanghai Camera - Imaging Teams.
• Interact with Component Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, CAD Engineers, PdMs, PgMs, OEMs, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Planning, Support Engineering.
• Work with hardware designers to comprehend new product needs, perform industry component searches and if required create mini specifications based on unique requirements.
• Work with the design team and the suppliers to evaluate, iterate and integrate new products into platform designs.
• Quickly assimilate into existing projects and work with internal customers to support fast-moving design schedules.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to communicate clearly, organize effectively and work with cross functional teams across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Strong multi-discipline engineering, technical, analytical skills.
• Understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts and solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

• BSEE with Electrical or Component Engineering experience
• 2+ years Component, Validation, or Reliability Engineering
• Familiar with HSSIO Components (PCIe, USB4, UFS5, DDR)
• Familiar with Component Validation
• Familiar with Camera Modules and/or Image Sensors
• Proficient with all MS Office 365 Tools
• Familiar with using AI Chatbots and AI Agents to efficiently solve problems

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years Component, Validation, or Reliability Engineering
• Design of HSSIO IC interfaces or HSSIO PCB
• Optics experience for Data Center Photonics and Camera Module Lens

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
