Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Ltd seeks a skilled Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust financial systems. You will join our global Application Development, Support and Engineering team, delivering secure, scalable backend services using modern Java ecosystems.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with a strong emphasis on security, compliance and SDLC efficiency, collaborating across teams to drive architectural excellence and impactful solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in microservices API development using Java Frameworks.

Responsabilidades

• Design and maintain backend services using Java 17 or 21 and Spring Boot or Quarkus.
• Implement scalable and maintainable microservices architecture.
• Strong hands-on with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or similar databases.
• Adhere to coding standards, perform code reviews, and refactor code as needed.
• Evolve the craft towards improving automation, simplification, and innovative use of the latest market trends.
• Develop a strategic approach to enhance the efficiency of the SDLC process, delivering high-quality and scalable solutions.
• Vendor coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and delivery governance.
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
