Job summary

Leadingnation, in partnership with Tencent, seeks a Portfolio Management leader to own end-to-end value creation across Southeast Asia and India, acting as the primary steward for enterprise value from investment through exit.

You will collaborate with founders, management teams, and co-investors to identify operational, financial, and strategic risks, drive governance, and lead initiatives that lift performance, structure capital, and execute exits with impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field; MBA/CFA a plus.
• 5+ years in private equity, post-investment/portfolio management, investment banking, or corporate development.
• Strong grasp of corporate finance and transaction execution; exposure to M&A financing.
• Experience owning workstreams with boards, management, lenders, and advisors.
• Excellent financial modeling, analytical and negotiation skills.

Role Overview: As a core member of the Portfolio Management team, you will take end-to-end ownership of a portfolio of investments across Southeast Asia and India - acting as Tencent's primary steward for value creation from investment through exit. You will partner closely with founders, management teams, and co-investors to proactively identify operational, financial, and strategic risks, and drive value creation initiatives that enhance enterprise value.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Portfolio Governance & Stewardship

• Own the ongoing shareholder relationship as Tencent's key point of contact on governance, board, and corporate matters; drive board meetings, communications, and corporate actions.
• Represent Tencent's interests in engagements with management teams, boards, and fellow shareholders, and shape strategic decision-making rather than merely supporting it.

2. Portfolio Monitoring, Risk & Performance Management

• Take ownership of portfolio health: continuously track financial and operating performance against plans, budgets, and KPIs to proactively identify operational, financial, and strategic risks, while driving value creation initiatives.
• Independently lead portfolio performance reviews for senior management and the Investment Committee, translating analysis into clear recommendations and accountable action plans.
• Partner with portfolio company management teams to identify opportunities to improve operating performance, governance, and enterprise value.

3. Capital Structure & Financing

• Assess capital structures and financing alternatives, and lead refinancing and recapitalization initiatives across the portfolio.
• Drive transaction execution - financial analysis, lender engagement, due diligence, and documentation - directing external advisors and counsel to deliver results.

4. Value Creation & Exit Leadership

• Champion value-creation initiatives alongside management teams to accelerate growth and expand enterprise value, leveraging Tencent's ecosystem and network.
• Own exit planning and execution (strategic sales, sponsor-to-sponsor, recapitalizations, public market exits), driving each process to a successful outcome.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA and/or CFA a plus.
• 5+ years in private equity, post-investment / portfolio management, investment banking, leveraged finance, or corporate development.
• Solid grasp of corporate finance, capital structure, and transaction execution; hands-on exposure to financing, refinancing, or M&A deals.
• Proven experience owning workstreams with boards, management, lenders, and advisors.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
• A self-starter able to take ownership, manage multiple workstreams independently, and influence senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Full professional proficiency in English (excellent speaking, listening, reading, and writing) is required.
• Experience investing in or managing portfolios across India and Southeast Asia within a venture capital, private equity, growth equity, or sovereign wealth investment platform is strongly preferred.
• Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly preferred, as this role involves regular liaison with Mainland China stakeholders
