Job summary

RGA is seeking a seasoned full-stack engineer to lead API-based systems with a cloud-first approach. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable applications while mentoring teammates.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in software development, 8+ years in insurance/reinsurance, strong cloud experience (AWS/GCP), and a proven ability to solve complex problems with clear communication. RGA emphasizes AI-assisted initial screening to personalize recommendations and schedule

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Master's degree and/or LOMA certification preferred.
10+ years of software development experience.
8+ years in insurance/reinsurance knowledge.
Experience with a variety of database technologies.
Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud provider preferred.
Proficiency in full stack tools covering frontend, databases and deployments.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages.
Proficiency in Test-Driven Development.
Proficiency in containerization.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Technical leader for a product and works on the most complex issues.
Leads design, development, testing, deployments and support of API-based systems with cloud-first emphasis.
Mentors and coaches teammates and shares knowledge.
Seeks continuous quality improvements for products.
